Guest guest
Hi JL, On a few occasions I've had the belching problem, but like Fliss said earlier, my problems are usually of a digestive nature in the abdomen and much further down. Quite frankly, the gas that I get very often is bad enough to chase others from the room, and I've had to leave the room myself for several hours until it settled down. I do think that both the belching, and the gas, are produced by our messed up digestive systems, and are probably quite normal for any of us. Just in the past several weeks my gas has increased, and I think this means that I need to start increasing my enzyme dosage again. Each time in the past that it's been a problem, we've upped my enzyme dosage and that seems to control it better. Are you taking any enzyme supplements, or are you taking any other antiacids that your doctor may have prescribed like Pepcid, Prevacid or Zantac, for example? I know how embarrassing and frustrating this can make you feel. You might try drinking some water with baking soda mixed in, and see if this helps. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Guest guest
Thank you for your affirmation! Yes - I take pancrease when I have a flare-up, but I haven't been taking it regularly. I didn't realize that so many of the problems I was having were panc related, until I did some research. My doc is the kind of guy who is supportive but doesn't provide much guidance. I was hesitant to take the antacid along with the enzymes, but if that is routine, then I will go ahead. Guest guest
Thanks! I started with acute at age 10 after the mumps, and it took me years, and several bouts of severe weight loss, to realize that I had CP / recurring acute. Thankfully, I don't have much pain if I watch my diet and avaid ANY alcohol. The last time I drank I had about 1/4 of a glass of wine, and I was sick for 4 months! No fun. Guest guest
May I say that if your enzyme suppliment pills have a coating on them, you do not need to take an acid reducer along with them. I take pancrelipase EC and do not need an acid reducer with it. Sandy/California lynnejanet wrote: > Thank you for your affirmation!
