Guest guest
Diabetes is very easily controlled if patients have been properly instructed. I agree with Mark most hospitals have diabetes education that is free of charge. However, you may need a referral from your PCP; some hopsitals require that so they can get federal funding; its a lot of beurocratic paperwork crap; but hospitals get so much $$ for community and preventative health programs, its kinda like kick backs. The almighty Dollar rules all!!!!!!!!!!!!! You also need to get back with your PCP getting a referral with Pain Mangement could take months; she need to cover your pain until that time. Call her nurse; and keep calling until you get an appropriate response. It is a damn shame that we need to hound and practically beg for appropriate treament; but do what we must. Also, dont forget that your doc is also a woman with a family; responsibilities outside the clinic; PMS; a husband (need I say more) bills; and so on; they go through rough times in their lives as well. I have a very good friend of mine who is a female anesthaesiologist; her dad died and her aged mother has alsheimers; she just dropped her practice; patients and all to care for her mom. She is having a very hard time of it too. How is your daughter doing? Well Ihope. Keep in touch and let me know how things go. Love
