Guest guest
While trying not to make this too long, I have a few questions. My daughter, 2/3/4 yrs old, has eosinophilic colitis ( mild). We almost SCD for 3 weeks now ( minus ketchup) and totally SCD leagal for 8 days with 4 days of modified intro. had to modify becuase her came to the diet tolerating ONLY beef veges ( which I later found out she was not really tolerating.. many come through undigested) potatoe and some alternative grains. That was it. She has an anaphilic strength allergy to egg ( diagnosed at 5m. old, never had ANY contact with eggs since.. so no actual anaphilictic reaction). She has never been exposed to dairy in her life.. except prenatally, She has always been treated as naturlally as I knew to do.. avioding elemental formaulas, steriods, etc. and has done remarkably well ( people who know of the illness and hear she has it are amazed). Anyway, we are now doing the intro as best we can.. beef, squash and water white grape juice.. and getting great results.. lots of die off on all fronts.. behavior, poop changes, other symtom changes... but here's the rub: after being on the intro for 1 day, we realized she couldn't do carrots....no more carrots for now. then on day four.. when we both ( I am nursing.. and need this diet myself) are so sick of squash and beef we could puke.. I tried apples and green beens. Now, I know that was one too many be we just had to.... and failed both, I think. bean I will try again soon, but apple have always been an issue.. no change now. So, day 6 and we are enbarking on ANOTHER day of squash and beef... we both don't want to eat. Tomorrow I an going to try chicken... any other suggestions? I just tried cheshew butter on her.. she loves it, but I think I may be seeing a reaction.. puffy under her eyes. Sigh. I don't know what to do. this is tto long to be just on these foods, and yet I was seeing some great changes. She has done ok with pears.. but won't eat them. so, my question are: 1. On this diet, can I eat things that are SCD leagal, but that Emma ( my daughter) can't eat.. because she doen't digest them well, or will that, through my breast milk mess things up? Also, what would be your suggestions for adding foods? I am thinking maybe I should go with my gut, and add food she was tolerating, such as broccoli and peppers, before this diet. I have a batch of yogurt going, and am going to introduce that slowly through me at first.. I eat it, some of the " good stuff " get to her through my breast milk. But we really need to expand our diet.. she and I are losing wieght. WE are doing lost of suppliments, phol assist, nad CLO, and a bunch.. lot of DAN proticol stuff, though she is not offcially ASD. Anyway, any thoughts would help.. excited about all this, but getting very very hungery, weak and desperate! Thanks!
