Guest guest
I love my heating pad, and keep one under the bed to use whenever I need to. It's best if you can alternate the dry heat with moist cold compresses, too. I found a great hot/cold pad at my local pharmacy that is just the right size to cover the area on my abdomen, or on my back and shoulder area where the pain is. It has stretchable velcro straps, so I can wrap it around me just about anywhere it needs to go, and wear it while I'm walking around the house or driving the car. It costs about $16 and has already more than paid for itself this past month. Driving has become difficult because of the pain, so I try to make very short trips. But the trip to my doctor, who I'm seeing nearly weekly now, is the worst, it's a hour trip. Now that I have the new hot/cold pad, I microwave it for a couple minutes, strap it on, and the heat will last until I get to the doctor's office an hour later. The nurse's are even happy to nuke it again in their microwave, or throw it in the office freezer, for me to use on the way home. By the time I wait in the waiting room and go through my exam, it's ready to make the return trip. It's been such a constant companion for me lately that I guess now it needs it's own name.....any ideas? You might try something like this, it really works for me.
