Western NC/SC MGB group - balloting results are in!

Good morning:

Here are the results of our ballot this week:

The majority (9 to 4) chose late morning/lunch, Saturday, September 9 as our

meeting time.

The majority (7) chose Hickory as our first meeting place. The other votes

were split, with Statesville running second.

Everyone agreed that we should have a meal with our meeting.

Everyone chose the open format.

Before I summarize, let me say this: for those of you unable to make this

meeting because of time or place, don't despair. One of my goals here is to

create smaller MGB support groups in each of our areas, so that we'll be able

to meet and talk frequently.

So:

Our first meeting will take place on Saturday, September 9, in Hickory at

11:00 a.m., at a restaurant or library or church. We need a Hickory contact

to pick a place and reserve it. Any volunteers? Please call or email me

with some suggestions. Something close to the main roads would be ideal.

We'll have a meal during or after our meeting. Again, I need suggestions and

help in reserving a spot.

Our meeting will be an open format. It was suggested by one of our group

that we begin with an brief introduction of each person present, then open

the floor for discussion, sharing and questions.

It was also suggested that we conduct a clothing exchange. Could I have a

volunteer to coordinate that? I'll bring some jeans and work clothes that

are going to be too big in a month. I'm currently a size 26-28 in pants, a

22-24 in tops.

I would like to use the meeting to get us organized for future gatherings.

Could we spend some time collecting names, addresses, phone numbers and email

addresses?

If someone has a digital camera, it would be great to record the meeting in

photos, to send to T. and Dr. R.

If you are having trouble making this meeting because of transportation, let

me know - let's look into carpooling from our various areas.

Thanks to everyone who helped me get this together.

Please let me know if you can help setting up the meeting place and the

restaurant location, and also let me know if you'll be attending this

meeting, so that we can have a head count for the restaurant.
