Guest guest
Heidi, Sandy, Peg, Deanna and . Thank you all for your kind words and moral support. I will follow your advice as soon as I am able to do these things. I have been ill since 1988 when all my problems really started and I have seen my share of the most sincere and dedicated nurses and others in the medical field and I always praise them for their manners and caring but I honestly believe that if you are in the medical field where you work closely with people and you can't feel for them you need to be in another line of work. I live in a tiny town pop. 500 and that is the closest hosp. about 45 min. drive. Olympia is about an hour and fifteen min. away but I do believe that if I do not get some type of response from my complaint I will not be going back to that hosp. again. It is just so hard as you all know, when you are in severe pain you can't get to the hosp. fast enough as it is. I have had several similar problems at this hosp. in the past. There is only 1 ER Dr. there that treats me halfway decent and of course he isn't always working. I went in once when my Dr. went away for a week and I did not know he was going anywhere so I ran out of my pain meds.(Oxycontin 80mg) The ER was really busy and it took 4 hrs before I was called back. they did not have an ER room available so I was placed on a cot next to the nurse's station. Of course everyone sits and stares at the nurse's station waiting for their turn to be seen. The ER Doc walked up, he told me his name and very sarcastically stated that the only way he saw fit to help me was to send me to the (DETOX CENTER) in Seattle. Of course I was floored and in pain I began crying and asked him to at least listen to my problem. He snapped back with no there is nothing you can tell me that will make me give you the drugs you are seeking here today. I filed a complaint that day, my blood hadn't even been tested and he would not listen to a thing I had to say. It was mortifying knowing the place was packed and every eye was watching and every ear listening to him disgrace me. I never heard anything back from the hosp. about his treatment but I was there the day my Dr. was doing his rounds and I was there for labs. My Dr. put the ER Dr. (politely) in his place but I still feel that he should had to come out to the waiting room and apologize to me in front of his future patients. Well thank all of you for caring so much and listening, that is what I needed was someone who REALLY UNDERSTANDS what I am saying and going thru. Many prayers and love for all. , Washington
