Guest guest
Since Dr. R. got the tests done that showed me what the problem was, the esophagus " problem " is actually a benefit, sort of like a Fobi pouch, so long as I don't try to override it. Now that I have figured it out, in the last two weeks, I'm losing weight like nobody's business. What was happening was that with my new stomach, I get REAL, STRONG hunger pains. But when I would eat, the hunger pain would not go away (because food was not getting to my stomach right away, it was hanging up in my esophagus, but of course, to me, I thought that was my " new stomach " getting full and I couldn't understand why the hunger pain didn't go away! So I'd keep eating -- grazing and grazing for maybe an hour until finally I didn't have hunger pains. In other words, the pouch was acting like a food reservoir. Now that I know this, the solution was simple (duh!) STOP EATING when the esophagus pouch is full. NEW PEOPLE: This problem was NOT caused by the MGB surgery, it is caused by scar tissue from having Gastric Reflux before the surgery. I had no idea I had it so bad, but the xrays don't lie! I have lost two full bra cup sizes and ANOTHER 2 pounds this week -- I'm at *208* (so 8 pounds down in the last week and a half!) So now I'd say I'm on the fast track! I'm going to update the webpage later this weekend. I still think it is important for people to know that just because they may lose slow, not to give up hope. I was getting used to losing 2 pounds a week and it is a LOT LOT LOT LOT better than gaining!! Dr. R., the genius mathematician (another of his many talents and I'm not kidding) did a weight prediction model based on my past weights and the rate I was gaining prior to the MGB and is is SCARY. If I had not had the MGB, I would be the side of a house within 3 years. I am meeting a fellow MGB veteran Kim Godfrey (FHPGunny1@...) from ville, Florida for dinner down in Dothan, AL tonight, so I have to get off here shortly, but I'll be taking more pictures! Me at 208, for one thing. Heheh. And Kim at 1 mo. post-op. :-) Plus she says she has lots of pics of both the s, Trish and others!
