Hi Everybody!

I have been lurking since my initial posting but wanted to give an update

since now there is a little more to tell. I also have some questions I

wanted to put out there for folks.

I had my initial meeting with my PCP today so discuss my interest in WLS and

specifically with the MGB. I brought her the paper Dr. R presented at his

conference back in June as well as the patient manual. In her brief

overlook, she was impressed with the procedure and understanding of my

interest. She wants a week to read everything and then will call me (as she

is going out of town one week from Friday). She expressed doubts that my

insurance would cover a procedure by an out-of-plan doctor. She did tell me

that she had recently spoke with the people on the board that review cases

and asked why some folks get approved. She was told that people who

document their failures with all other methods are the ones who get

approved. I still am willing to take out a loan to have Dr. R. do the MGB

IF he approves me. I'm almost afraid to be hopeful, really terrified of

getting let down.

Here a few questions that I was looking for general insight into. Are there

any folks out there who have had the procedure done a few years ago? I'm

curious if the cravings come back for people and if any one has had

significant weight re-gains.
