Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome, everyone! got his band yesterday! It is going really well. It doesn't seem to bother him at all, which is a huge relief. I will have to post pictures soon. My parents got him some Chicago Cubs sticker/tattoo things so I can decorate his band. We're aiming for a 3 month timeframe with the band - I say off in October when the cubs win it all!!! lol He does have a bit of a red spot on the bulging area just above the tip of his right ear. It is more light pink in color than red. But I am supposed to leave the band off until these red spots fade, right? And if they don't fade I have to call CT? There is no sign of breakdown, but I left it off for his nap now just in case. I want to see if it got any better after a longer period of time. Today was our first outing - to the pharmacy to get alcohol and a new toothbrush for cleaning! I have never had so many people talk to me. It's actually quite refreshing. There was a little girl with braces on her legs with her grandmother, who came up and asked what was wrong with his head. I just said it's kind of flat and we're trying to round it out, and in a few months his noggin will be as good as new. She laughed and her grandma said " oh good, she was worried about him " . So sweet. It is a relief getting through day one! Thanks for listening everyone. R., mom of , 6months, one day in DOC band! On Wed, Jun 18, 2008 at 6:39 PM, <nwilkens2275@...> wrote: > Welcome ! Guest guest
Congrats on a smooth transition. I would put the band back on even if it is a little red. we did this with my son and eventually it wasnt red at all. It shows that it is working to put gentle pressure to help move that bulge back to where it belongs. I wish you all the luck with things. Tammy mother to DOC grad > Welcome !
