Guest guest
Hi, News: **************************************************************************** ** NO MORE VIOXX or CELEBREX. Vioxx and Celebrex were advertised as kinder and gentler versions of Motrin/Naproxen/Ibuprofen etc. We started giving it to preop patients a few weeks ago for preemptive analgesia (i.e. to decrease post op pain). We have had three bleeding complications since starting to use the Vioxx. Moral of the story. No Aspirin/Ibuprofen/Nuprin/Naprosyn and now no Vioxx or Celebrex 2 weeks before surgery. Otherwise you could be in some deep water. **************************************************************************** ** I reviewed several charts and turned down lots of people because they are not reading the manual and following instructions. Make the letter a good one. We tell you what to do. Just follow the instructions. You could write five pages on the risks alone. Local Drs letters are often missing or not very supportive. People leave out a nice summary of what they talked to their contacts about. I have one person who is sick now not following instructions. This surgery is really not for everyone. I want to select patients that are knowledgeable and can follow instructions. **************************************************************************** ** Clinic appointments are going to be prescreened Appointments in the future will only go to people that have completed the online appointment form http://clos.net/forms/clinic_appointment_form.htm RR Rutledge, M.D., F.A.C.S.
