Guest guest Posted June 27, 2008 Report Share Posted June 27, 2008 Well my husband took Bryson in this morning to have his helmet and red spots looked at AGAIN. The ortho couldn't give my husband an answer as to why he has had so many problems with his helmet and wouldn't give him a yes or no answer to our question "is this because he didn't get his helmet for 17 days after he was casted?" The ortho shaved the inside again and drilled some holes in it and said "that should do it." My husband requested a new helmet to be made just in case this one doesn't work. If all would have went well we could be almost half way done with his treatment, instead we are back to square one. I just want to thank everyone for all their input, I don't know that I would have requested or been so strong about a new helmet if I didn't hear others successes, troubles, and questions. Stick to your guns and get them to fix it. I went in for 12 adjustments on a custom helmet before I gave up completely. Red spots should disappear an hour at most after taking off the helmet. Blisters should never form. My son had bruises. That's not right either. They tried to placate me and say it was ok and I knew better from reading what the wonderful people here post.
