Guest guest
I am also awaiting CIGNA approval. My letter was sent in by Dr. R's office and of course they couldn't find it. I faxed another copy which they received on 08/03. I have been told that a decision could take anywhere from 3-4 days to 2-4 weeks so I keep calling every other day or so. My question to the rest of you CIGNA-ites is this - are you PPO or HMO? I am PPO and I called and inquired about exclusions for WLS before I ever submitted the paperwork. I was told then that if I meet their criteria I would be approved. I told them that I definitely meet Dr. R's criteria with a BMI of 48 and they said it would just depend. So I wait....and wait....and wait. Meanwhile, I hear most of you doing beautifully and losing weight with no problems. Then I hear others who are constantly nauseous (le - hope the patch is working) and I get scared to death. I know that this is the right thing for me - am I 40 years old with a 5 year old and a 4 year and I want to see them grow up and I want them to have a mother who can play with them! Hang in there everyone - I have decided I will be self-pay if I have to! on
