I emailed Dr. R. but haven't heard from him either.

What effect does the surgery have on the kidneys? Do Kidneys require

that a certain amount of fluid pass thru them in order to remain

healthy? What about the bladder????

Thanks very much

Hi ,

You can drink all day long after the MGB. I know, I'm floating.

As far as I know there is no negative effect upon the kidneys of the

surgery.

We have had 3-4 people that have had kidney stones after the surgery.

Just this morning one of our patient's mother contacted me saying her

daughter was found to have some kidney problems.

I do not think it is from the surgery but I am contacting the patient and

her Dr's today and I will get back to you ASAP.

Yes and they get plenty after the surgery.

> What about the bladder????

Many >80% of preop patient have bladder incontinence prior to the surgery.

Nearly 100% have improvement or resolution after surgery.
