Hello Tammy,

I am really sorry you're going through what are such familiar

symptoms to so many of us. They are so unpleasant and worrying too.

I know you'll be concerned about so many things at the

moment .....what the future holds, work etc. etc.

I'm glad the docs are investigating properly. As Jim said, you need

to be prepared for an adverse reaction to the ERCP. The pancreas

doesn't like being interfered with so sometimes the ERCP provokes

pretty awful pain afterwards. It did in my case. You also need to

know that even an ERCP does not always show up some sorts of damage,

although it is a very sensitive test.

For the moment I think all you can do is try to be patient; easier

said than done! The combination of low fat diet, enzymes, rest and

prescribed pain-killers is probably the best thing and most likely

to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I do think you

shouldn't let any time elapse before reporting that bad pain. Have

you got effective pain-killers? (Sorry if you said so and I've

forgotten!) If the doc thinks you have CP, he or she should be ready

to make sure your pain is controlled as well as possible. Hot water

bottles or heating pads, hot baths and even aromatherapy can all

help. (Someone mentioned araomatherapy on another site the other day

and I realised I was actually using lavender products, my favourite,

in many of the ways she suggested.) I know you may well have tried

all these.

I do hope you get some definite results soon and some answers to

your questions. One little consolation might be that, in my

experience, the disease goes through different stages; you may well

go back into a good or better stage before long. In my 53 years as a

CP sufferer, this is what I have found to be the case.

I'm sure you will find lots of excellent advice on this site. Have

you tuned into the top5plus5 library to find out more about the

condition? You can find it from the PAI home page.

With very good wishes,

Fliss
