Guest guest
Hello again, , I'm sorry you are experiencing such bad emotions about all this. It's awkward that you reacted badly to the enzymes. Can I just say that I take Creon and for several weeks when they were first prescribed, I had DREADFUL abdominal cramps. I had just been given a definite diagnosis for the first time and I really thought the disease itself had taken a turn for the worse. Then the cramps stopped. The Creon does control the steatorrhoea very well indeed and I have put on weight. Obviously, I didn't have such a bad reaction as you did...I didn't have to go to hospital....but I'm just saying that I know that some patients do react badly at first to the enzymes. Anyway, your docs are obviously the best judges on that matter. Don't despair, . One thing I've learned in 52 years (yes....52!) of chronic pancreatitis, is that the disease goes through different stages, some much worse than others. I had terrible attacks and bad weight loss in the 1980's (no diagnosis, though!) but the 1990's were a lot better. Your situation could improve, honestly. I hope your appointment goes well. Blessings and best wishes, Fliss
