Guest guest
Calling All Farmworker Outreach Staff! Please join us for a Community Forum, “Voices from the Field: A Community Forum for Outreach Staff Perspectives, Insights, & Experiences!” Farmworker Health Services, Inc. (FHSI) cordially invites outreach staff attending any one of the three migrant stream forum conferences to attend a compelling community forum about important topics relevant to farmworker outreach programs nationwide. FHSI will facilitate a lively discussion that will touch upon timely topics such as health outreach and enabling service models, approaches to measuring success, cultural sensitivity practices, and strategies for increasing care. The information gathered from these community forums will be incorporated into FHSI’s 2009 National Needs Assessment. This is outreach staff’s opportunity to exchange ideas, experiences, resources, and strategies with other specialists in the outreach field. We anticipate them to be highly interactive and innovative sessions that will be especially relevant to outreach workers/coordinators, promotores/as, clinical outreach staff, mobile health unit workers, and health educators. Community Forums will be taking place at the following locations: · Community Forum #1: East Coast Migrant Stream Forum (Providence, Rhode Island) - Friday, October 24th, 2008 at 3:30 – 5:00 PM · Community Forum #2: Midwest Farmworker Health Forum (New Orleans, LA) – Friday, November, 19th, 2008 at 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM · Community Forum #3: Western Migrant Stream Forum (San Diego, CA) – Saturday, January 24th at 3:00 – 4:30 PM FHSI invites you to be part of this important needs assessment study! Your voice is not only welcomed, it’s needed! This research provides sought after information to outreach programs, advocates, and funders in order to respond to the disparities farmworker face. Findings from the 2009 National Needs Assessment will be presented at the 2009-2010 stream forum conferences and a written report will be made available. If you have any questions please see the contact information below. We hope you can join us! Thank you! For more information please contact: Gardner, Project Manager Farmworker Health Services, Inc.
