Guest guest
We do have a lot in common. This is my third career, and I too was looking forward to settling into being an editor. I was an optical lab tech until I was 32, then I went back to college. I got my BA in English. I moved to Charlotte, N.C., and got into corporate training, but my real dream was to live in Wilmington and work at the Star- News. When I moved to Wilmington, I was floating, because it had taken a lot of work to get here. But then my health started to go. I can't really apply for SS, yet, because my diagnosis, according to the GI doc's records, is " tentative CP. " So I'm going to have to be paitent. We used most of our savings in the fall when I went out on short-term disability then. We paid some bills off because we weren't sure what would happen with me, so that was a small burden lifted. My husband works part time as a colonial cook at a museum house downtown. During tax season, he works full time as a tax preparer. I need to apply for long-term disability if it looks like I won't return to work by the 11th week. If I apply for long-term, the insurance can (if approved) pay me most of my salary for 1 year. I also have to apply for SS when I apply for long-term disability. I am so hoping the ERCP will show something, so I can either get fixed a little or have a definite diagnosis. My I have gone on, haven't I. I'm not having a good day today. I think I'm getting sicker. The weakness is coming more frequently and I am so tired all the time. Oh, I wanted everyone to know, I've been using my lavender candle and I also put a small rock fountain on the front porch under the living room window. I can hear the fountain and smell the lavender when I'm resting on the couch. It helps! Thanks for advice. Tammy Hope everyone is having as good a day as they possibly can.
