Guest guest
Well I know exactly how you feel about not working. fortunately my husbands career is well established and he can come and go as he feels. We do hav e3 kids at home and they keep insisting on being clothed and fed... the nerve. I love nursing, it was a second career, well third really. I didn't go back to college until I as 29 and graduated from MUSC when I was 35 with my BSN. I am only 42 so I haven't been nursing that long. I worked with the OR's, getting pts ready for surgery. I pretty much got people naked, stuck them with needles and gave them drugs then shipped them to the OR. There is a lot of family/pt teaching which I really liked alot. I worked primarily with GI, GYN, ENT and Nuero surgeons. I had hoped to specialize and had put in a request to be a OR liason Nurse. Teaching about the surgical processes to pts and families. Guess thats pretty much out of the question now. I hope things improve for you soon and let me know how it goes. YOu have certainly come to the right place for advice and support. These are the most loving compassionate people I have ever had the great fortune to have come accross. I dont know what I would have done without them. Seriously, they have helped me tremendously and I only hope that in some small way I can return the favor. Warmly,
