It was not in its own juice. It was " in pineapple juice " and when I contacted them they said corn derivitives were in that format. By accident I located Del Monte Pineapple packed IN ITS OWN JUICE and it was excellent. Carol F. Guest guest
I really don't know about some of the herbs in this formula. Citric acid *should* be legal as an additive, according to Elaine's website. To be perfectly honest, nothing I've ever used for kids' coughs (in 26 years of parenting) has worked better than my home-made cough syrup: Mix 1/4 teaspoon of powdered ginger (the kind you bake with) into 2 Tablespoons of honey. Mix well... give a teaspoon at a time, right off the spoon, or mixed in hot water with fresh lemon. (Cool to appropriate temp for a child). What I like about it is that you can make it up fresh... and you KNOW exactly what's in it.... and it's inexpensive! This recipe was given to me by a registered nurse, who got it from her grandfather, who was an old-fashioned country doctor (who made housecalls.... little black bag and all). Best wishes, Patti Olbas cough syrup I haven't written the company yet, so if anyone has any info I would appreciate it before I write the company. Caught the summer cold and this looked like a plausible cough medicine. Olbas Cough Syrup Manufactured by Hanseler AG, Uzwil, Switzerland CH-9240 Imported, packed and distributed by Penn Herb Co.
