travelling back to Texas. Not because I was in pain or anything it

was just nice to have more energy to travel. Most importantly, I

wanted to be near Dr. R in case something went wrong.

My energy level was pretty low for the 1st week, although I felt

good. It's possible the over-dosing on Carafate may have caused some

drowsiness (I was taking 8 TBS a day not 8 TSP a day - major DUH!).

Remember to get enough fluids in during the day - that always perked

me back up. If you think your blood pressure is down, try salty

soups like Chicken Noodle - don't eat the noodles or chicken yet,

though.

Can't wait to talk with you today.

Hey, Bern:

We are now back in Flat Rock, near Asheville, about 4 hours away from Durham.

I tried to work it out to stay longer, but childcare, Carlton's work

schedule, and the whole darn thing seemed to conspire otherwise. I'm aware

that it's not optimal, but since Carlton's a MD, I'm resigned to recuperating

here for the remainder of my week.

I'm doing okay today - not back to my full energy level, but okay. I will

heed your advice about the extra salt. I'm salting every cup of soup I eat,

nowadays!

I'm cooking up a big pot of chicken soup this afternoon, and I'll divide it

up, so that I get broth only and my family gets the good stuff. I'll also

try a tomato soup recipe that I love, maybe thickening it with yogurt instead

of milk.

Does Carafate cause drowsiness? I really do feel as though I could snooze

through the day, these past couple of days.

I'll check in later.

xoxo

Blair
