Guest guest
I posted this a few days ago, but haven't seen anyone respond to it. I emailed Dr. R. but haven't heard from him either. What effect does the surgery have on the kidneys? Do Kidneys require that a certain amount of fluid pass thru them in order to remain healthy? What about the bladder???? Thanks very much Waunakee-WI
Guest guest
Hi, I'm not sure about the how the kidneys or bladder work, but I wanted to tell you that I have always been a huge water drinker. I had my surgery seven days ago, and when I woke up from surgery, I was REALLY thirsty. I just kept sipping and sipping and actually was able to get down THREE pitchers of water while I was in the hospital(I was released around 1:00pm the day after my surgery). I knew that the water would help get the surgical meds out of my system, so I just kept sipping almost constantly while I was awake. My urine was a normal color(almost colorless)the day after I got out of the hospital. I still sip constantly all day long, and even this morning, I have already gotten down a large glass of grape juice mixed with water. The liquids go through the stomach really fast. I really don't think they stay in the stomach long at all. The first few days, I could feel the water sort of gurgling through my system as I drank, and it was sort of an uncomfortable feeling, but now it is about the same as before surgery except that I don't drink as fast. Maybe this information will help you.
