Guest guest
Jeanne, They were going to try it on Henry as well. When it came time to " try it " I said, this appointment was scheduled during his naptime, and we have already been here 3 hours, there is no way he will try it now. My husband put one on, but Henry was clearly afraid of it. The first three times he had it on, he cried. Talking to the people at Advanced Respiratory, this happens sometimes. He warmed up to it after a few days and seems to look forward to it. Now, even if he fusses before we put it on, he is fine once it is on. He loves it now. The company allows you to send it back if the child really does not want to do it. They said that if that happens, that people try again when the child is older. In our case, we were told they " qualify " if their chest is at least 19.5 inches circumference, and this was his exact measurement. Even if he won't try it on, tell them you want to give it a try. I would like to talk to you about the ongoing sinus congestion. Henry has this as well. We are on augmentin again for 3 weeks to clear up the current bout. They want to try inhaled steriods when this clears up. I would appreciate any advice that you have. mom of Henry, 20 months old wcf rrobbins9058@... He is 2 1/2 so for those of you with young children, did you have to go through this process. She told me she would be having him try the vest etc., and I have visions of arriving for the appointment and depending on his mood, he may not even allow the vest to be put on him. I would hate that to be the reason he doesn't get it. In terms of his health, overall he is doing OK except for some ongoing sinus congestion. He had surgery last October to have a large mucocele removed and he will also see ENT this week as a F/U to be sure it has not come back. He is already on Zytec and Rhinocort but neither seem to be helping at present. I will keep you posted.
