Guest guest
Thanks so much for the encouragement. I am not usually shy and have a hard time with giving up control, so I was tired of letting the GI doc have it. Here's something interesting I found out. My sister-in-law, wound specialist, bumped into a pancreas doctor at the VA hospital in Durham. Dr. said it is possible I still have a gallstone stuck in the pancreatic duct or I may have hereditary pancreatitis. My sister-in-law told her about my dad dying of pancreatic cancer and brother being hospitalized with acute pancreatitis. When I first heard about CP, my entire life made sense. I've always been the type who gets bad stomache aches and would throw up all the time. I've had the pain in my stomach, like I have now, more than 20 years ago. I never thought anything about it then. I thought it was my tight jeans! Did you talk to the attorney about your disability case? If so, what happened? Guest guest
If this appears twice, I apologize. For some reason the first post didn't show up. I don't have psedocysts, but my pain is at the most severe in the late afternoon to early evening. I usually have lunch around noon and dinner at 4:30 p.m., so I figure by this time my pancreas has been working for four hours and is beginning to get sore. Since I've been home, I usually take two hydrocodone at noon whether I'm hurting or not. This usually helps with the severity of the pain. When I was working and the pain wasn't too bad, I would wait to take pain medication until I got home at 11 p.m. I usually needed it by that point. The pain would build to a cresendo ending when I took some percocet. The pain always was the worst from 4:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. If it was too bad at work, I usually took a motrin to help ease it off. Occasionally, about 15 percent of the time, I wake up in the morning with severe pain. When this happens I know it's going to be a very bad day. Hope this helps, Heidi.
