Hello there,

Just checkingin on Sat. morning to say I hope things are not too bad

this weekend. You don't have too long to wait now until you see your

doc, do you? (This Wed?) I hope you will feel more settled after

that interview.

Have you got particular reasons for not wanting to consider a

Whipple? I thought they were very successful in most cases and

partially successful in others.....ie, a measure of pain relief? I

know it's far from certain but nothing is when it comes to the

pancreas, it seems, even not touching the panc at all! Would the

advantage not be that there would be no diabetes following a

Whipple? I know the ICT gives a measure of protection against

diabetes, depending on a number of factors including how many islet

cells you have, but might it not be better to avoid it for the time

being if you could? You must have real doubts about the Whipple in

your case?

Anyway, Chrissy, I don't profess to know enough even to express

views on these things! I just wanted to say I hoped the pain wasn't

too bad this weekend and that some pleasant things happen!

I have my younger son up this weekend. I also went to a great

evening last night. I had felt desperately unwell throughout the day

but had promised one of our students that I would hear her sing at

the " Merseyside Young Singer of the Year " competition. There had

been over 200 entrants and she had reached the 8 finalists. I felt I

should go so I dosed up on codeine and went. She sang fabulously ( " I

coukld have danced all night " )and won the silver trophy in second

place. She is only 14 and the outright winner is 17 so we felt she

had done superbly well. It was a great evening anyway.

I think my ill feelings could be the diabetes kicking in. I may just

have flu.

Do take care. Forgive my ramblings. I just want to keep in touch and

wish you well, never to say what you " ought " to do. I wish i knew

but you know far more yourself, of course, both personally and

professionally.

Take care,

With love,

Fliss
