Guest guest
Crataegus oxyacanth is Hawthorn, the berries, flowers and all parts of which have been found to be useful not only in heart disease, but in the treatment of digestive disease, especially in cystic fibrosis. It is essen tially an anti-spasmodic. I think I had to type my fingers to the bone to find the digestive connection and its scientific study--probably lost it when I bought my most recent computer. I find that for me, it works. But ONLY if one tries it very, very, very slowly. In case you have an open-minded doctor, let the doctor know what you are doing. It is (the herb) an antispasmotic, formerly used solely for heart disease. There is a lot about it at the site IHerb.com, though I do not believe that the digestive connection (recently confirmed) is mentioned there. The small list devoted to alternative treatments is named after this herb and is called crataegus . Others can tell you more about it than I can. The herb has been used for over two hundred years and is mentioned in Culpepper's Herbalist Guide, but not the connec tion to digestion, nor to cystic fibrosis--there are many sites that ex plain this, but I am too tired to search them again. Love to you, Deb, and to all at cfparents, n Rojas
