Guest guest
Hi folks, Haven't been around much to post as I started a new job, but wanted to just pass along that we're continuing to see progress both physically and behaviorally on the SCD. So much so that we have now tailored our son's whole treatment plan around the diet, meaning that we have discontinued chelation and are not considering any new interventions for the time being. Our son, age 6, dxed with severe ADHD/poss. HF autism, has never looked healthier. At school he's thriving, except that his focus and attention issues remain. We saw a major regression at 2 mos. (as referenced in BTVC), and have seen smaller-scale regressions almost to the day each of the last two months. All were followed by periods of positive behavior and good digestion. We introduced the SCD yogurt w/ cow's milk about a month ago; before starting SCD he had been casein-free for 2 yrs and we wanted to see how he was tolerating it. Very easy with the Yogourmet maker and starter. He loved the taste, mixed w/ scd jelly, but there was some regression. We're waiting a week or two and then will make goat's milk yogurt. My main concern right now is D-lactic acid, which remains high in our son. I have read Elaine's references to it in BTVC, and some references to it in the archives. Anyone have any thoughts about if reducing D-lactate via SCD would be a long process, and if I should hold off on the yogurt until his d-lactate levels off? Best of luck to all, Bill
