Summer: Do you mean Rotavirus?.

Yes thank you....and my goodness I forgot about the beans making my milk

different! Everyone but KIKI is ready for the beans. Does anybody thing them

coming through to my milk may cause a problem???? I am cooking those " endanger

turtles " /black turtle beans for dinner! Kiki is back to intro....doesn't want

much food right now other than intro foods. She is a smart girl!

Thanks, Antoinette mom to KIKI-2 celiac/asd SCD 2/06

Antoinette,

It never hurts to be ultra cautious. I would not eat the beans right

now.

I am so glad to hear that Kiki will come home!

Mimi or who ever has experience in this area, should we treat KIKI as if she is

new to the diet again since her intestines have been damaged again by Rotavirus?

She is eating intro again...but I am certain that when she feels better she is

going to want what we are eating. Which is more advanced foods. I am holding

out with the beans thank to you and Summer rescuing KIKI's milk supply......boo

hooo....I wanted beans! I will do anything for my KIKI though. I hate seeing

her relapse like this (thanks to virus/set back) into ASD behaviors after the

gains we had made with SCD. It breaks my heart, and scares me both.

My son went through rotavirus with UC - it was awful.. he got so dehydrated

we had to hospitalize him and he was severely anemic as well (because of the

UC) so he had to have a blood transfusion.

He started steroids after that visit and it was that experience that

prompted me to put him on SCD. He was symptom free after 3 wks and began

the taper off the steroids (as he flared before SCD trying to wean off

them). I know this doesn't help your situation, but maybe to encourage you

that healing can take place rather quickly, even after rotavirus.

I'm thinking a few days on the intro diet might not be a bad idea just to be

safe - I know my son still to this day, does better on proteins than the

fruits. Hope this helps...
