Guest guest
hi, my name is leilla and this is my first time posting...i've been e- mailing linda t and she has been so very helpful but i keep her very busy...i'm trying out my fingers at meeting other mgb wannabees. i am so anxious, as is everyone else. i have yet to be approved by my insurance...haven't even filed yet as i was considering the possiblity of switching from my policy to bcbs...but was told that i would be denied due to my weight. i found out that our company is self-insured and although our insurance has told me that this is not a covered procedure, i believe there is hope due to ADA. if anyone out there has gone through this, please share with me. i've got a question that maybe a postop may be able to answer...how does our body know when to stop losing, and from what i've read, the weight seems to actually stop before one reachs a low ideal weight. (meaning maybe 180 vs 140) also, recalling past diets where we are told that if we bring our caloric intake too low we actually stop losing as well, why doesn't this happen with the mgb. and finally, i've read so many positive experiences (and that is very great) but is anyone willing to share the most challenging postop moments...any depression, grieving for your comfort foods, and what are those comfort foods being replace with. okay, i'm running off at the mouth...exactly why i will give linda a break that she truely deserves. Guest guest
welcome leilla, I can't answer any of your questions, as I am a wannabe right now, however, i'm glad you asked them. Take care, Ruqayya
