Guest guest
Hi! Like you, I can't post as often now I'm back at work but it's Saturday, so here goes! I'm so glad you've survived your week! It sounds as if you're working terribly hard but are still managing. Could be the sign of good things to come. You sound more positive. Hope everything improves from now on!! Don't overdo it, though. I saw my prof and he was GREAT! He agreed that since I'm working and have had a good few months, I should not have the TP for the moment. I have another appointment in six months for repeated tests but I can phone for an earlier appointment any time I want to. (Last term I e-mailed him once when I wanted an earlier appointment and he saw me within three days, so I'm not worried about this.) Yes, I do feel much more peaceful about things just now. I cope with the small amounts of pain I have and just pray that it stays that way, but with CP one never knows. When I first consulted him and the TP was mentioned, I was going through a lot more pain, for some reason. If only we knew these reasons, life would be so much simpler. I'm so pleased to see your post; I was a bit worried but hoped it was just that you were too busy and not that you were too unwell. BTW, my school bid is going well. We have to raise £50,000 of our own to get the extra money from the Govt for the school. I sent off about 200 letters to small local businesses, but without much hope. Then a bloke who owns a couple of DIY shops in the village (he doesn't even live in the locality) came into school, asked some searching questions and then offered us £10,000 straight off with a promise of more at the end if we don't quite make the £50,000. We already had £25,000 (PTA etc.) so we're now well on the way! His kids didn't even go to our school but there we are....a philanthropist on our doorstep! I say " village " BTW because where i teach is about ten miles from Liverpool itself and is quite samll. Well, must go now. I have people to dinner to-night. It was going to be salmon again (different people coming) but there's a scare story in yesterday's British papers about carcinogenic pollutants in farmed salmon so I'll have to get something else! These stories coms and go, of course, but I don't think our friends would appreciate the salmon to-day! Take GREAT care Chrissie, and keep in touch if poss. I'm looking out for Bert's news too. Heidi has been giving her excellent advice as always, no matter how she feels herself. I never miss one of her posts.
