I have some WONDERFUL NEWS!!! My surgery is scheduled for March 9!!

Just got the call today!! 12 days. shew....lots to do between now and

then! We are going to just go to the JP and get married quick next

week (we both feel it's important for us to be married before the

surgery). We have to go tomorrow and get our marriage license. Right

now we have an appointment for Thursday to get married, but that

depends on when we have to go down for our pre-op tests. I had to

make arrangements for our son, our dogs & cats and of course the

marriage! what a hectic day....and it's not over..but it's well worth

it. :) I am very, very nervous! It really hit me today. I had

actually figured something would go wrong and they wouldn't do the

surgery. Kev says I was being pesimistic, but I was just going by the

history of this disease. I have gone through hell trying to get

someone to really help me and do something about this other than give

me drugs. Finally! I am truly amazed by the amount of support that we

have. Makes a huge difference. Even my sons father and his family are

being supportive. My sons grandma will be taking care of him and she

plans to bring him down for a visit at least once (and her other

son's wife and her husband want to come along). The worst part of

this whole thing is going to be being away from my son for (at least)

two weeks. I can't stand even the thought of it. Since it's so far

away, it's not like they can just come and see me every day, but she

said they would definitely come down at least one day. I know she'll

take good care of him, I just know this will be a difficult time for

him and I won't be there to make him feel better and tell him

everything will be okay.

okay, enough of that...I'm rambling again. lol

The surgery.....

They are going to cut me from my rib cage to below my belly button.

They are going to definitely remove the pancreas and part of the

intestines and most likely the splean. The surgery will last

approximately 14 hours and I will have at least a two week stay in

the hospital. I am going to have my mother update you when she gets

home, or maybe my sister. Whichever, someone will. :) They had me on

vein feedings for a while, but not the stomach tube. They want to,

but I keep refusing. This is ridiculous, but my son goes through hell

watching me suffer like I do, and for him to have to see that too

would just be to much. So, I force myself to eat wether I'm sick or

not and try my best to keep as much of it down as I can. I live on

baby food a lot, but that doesn't even stay down. I figure the more I

get in me, the better the chance of at least a little staying down

and giving me some nutrients.

I'll have to see what we can do about the sexy gown! :) Thanks for

the laugh. I so needed that!! :) I hope everyone is having a good day

today. Take care! :)
