Guest guest
Hi all: There were 30 of us at Cattleman's in Durham tonight, chatting and eating and getting acquainted. What a terrific group of people: I met Dawn and Beth and their spouses, and her wonderful kids, (my latex allergy sister) and her husband, Dave and his wonderful wife, and her mom, Susie and her parents, Tricia Bardell and her great friend (who tried to convince me that she was a post-op!), and a lot of post-ops (real ones) besides: Ginny, , Amber, , Amy Poe, plus husbands and kids. If I've left anyone out, it's because I've got that TransScop patch behind my ear and I'm starting to get loopy. But Deb and and their gang never showed! They were missed. I hope I'll see them tomorrow at the hospital. I go in at 8:30 tomorrow morning, into a latex-free OR, followed by , then Susie, then Dave, then Dawn. I believe or Deb goes tomorrow too, but I'm getting confused. Anyway - the dinner was a great success, and the restaurant was just right for us pre-ops. They really worked hard to accommodate us, and gave out separate checks, and brought food promptly. I would recommend them to other preop groups meeting for dinner. It was wonderful to put names with faces from the MGB list, and I was so glad to talk with the post-ops about their experiences with the surgery and its aftermath. It was a great " eve of surgery " , and I highly recommend it for helping to relax before surgery. Thanks again to everyone on this list for all the love and support you've shown me these past months. Second time's a charm!!! xoxo Blair
