Susiecue, Gosh girl, I'm so sorry that you are no better. I think that Mayo

would be an excellent choice. I checked into it, but they didn't accept my

insurance. I pray that you have no problem with yours.

Your syptoms sound like what I had when I was on the Imuran. Boy it really

did a number on me. We are all so different that it is so hard to tell. I

think Mayo will be able to get to the bottom of things.

Know we are all here for you and thinking of you often. I'm so glad you are

trying to get more aggressive treatment.

hugs

Hi Susiecue yes we have been there to the Mayo Clinic. I most say we where very please by the help the gave us. Matter of fact we been there 3 different times already.Don 1 once me 3 times :( Don's Dr at the Clinic is Dr. Moder. He is a Rheumy Dr. And very good.

I know someone else here has a different one in the Clinic.Darn just cant think of right now who it is. Now let me tell if your Ins. will help go for it !!!!! But also be ready to get a check up you never had !!! The check you from top to bottom let me tell you. When the get true with you you also know what all the problems are. You start off with the rheumy he will act as your Primary Dr. from there on you will see every specialist. You also will be busy from morn till night. This all will take about a week to do it so be ready. But go for the whole 9 yards I say. The also will tell you

true out the week some of the results. But on your last day there the give you the whole story. Then about 2 weeks later you get it in writing send to you. The will tell you about all the problems plus tell you what medicine the would try first. If you are really going there let me know I give you the phone # plus tell you

what Hotel to stay. yup Susie it is not cheap up there. OK But the Clinic is great in working with everyone. Are you planning on driving up there or flying ?? Let me know about that too.

Hang in there girl you can win this one too.

It just takes time and dam good DRS to get on the right track. I really think you making a very good Joyce. Love you

Heidi

I know some of you were seen at Mayo. Could you give me the names of the rheumy you saw there. After Ted & I talked some more we have decided to pursue the Mayo thing that my PCP mentioned since the disease if progressing rapidly & they don't know what to do with me.

Also did your insurance cover the visit. Did you have an HMO?

I am down to 40 of the pred & 150 of the Imuran which I've been on for 7 weeks now. My left ear still turns red & sore, my eyelids are swollen, I am totally exhausted similar to when I was first diagnosed. I have had an upset stomach all day & considered going to bed this afternoon & I never lay down during the day. My feet swell more by the day. I truly believe it is the Imuran not the pred with the foot problem.

Any help would be most appreciated. I am going to contact the insurance co. on Monday & will get in to see my PCP Tuesday.

Luv ya,

Susieque and all on Imuran,

I think you may be on to something with the Imuran.

I was on the Imuran for about 3 months without any problems.

My MD. did regular blood work and found that my liver functions

were HIGH, so Rheumy took me off the Imuran 2 weeks prior to having

an ARCP, Colonoscopy and Hidascan because they thought it might

be my Gall bladder. Nothing was found on any of these test.

Rheumy told me to go back on the Imuran, at this time I started having

pain around where my Liver is and also VERY sick, tired, throwing up,

feet began to swell and just no energy at all. I just felt like it was caused

by the Imuran so I stopped taking it for a few days and sure enough the sick stomach went away. I called my Rheumy and he said that I could stop taking it then.

Now my sick stomach is gone, pain around the Liver area is gone and

also the feet and legs are back to normal.

I am going tomorrow to have more blood test to see how the Liver levels

are after being off the Imuran. If they are back in normal range we will feel

sure it is the Imuran that is the cause.

Have had lot going on, as you can see. This is why I haven't been posting

in a while. Will let y'all know how the test turn out.

Sorry, can't help you with the MAYO question.

Just wanted to let you know what the Imuran did to me.

Barb
