Nutrition: Body Composition and SCD

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if any of you moms who are SCD as well or the other adults

on the diet can share some experiences with changes in body composition

while on the diet. I am not talking about doing SCD for weight loss, I have

read many old postings on that.

I am talking about your experiences regarding you and/or your chilren's pre

SCD nutritional status reflected by the body composition (muscle, fat,

overall weight, and for the children, height and head circumference

percentiles as well)

Can you tell me

-what was the initial, pre SCD, body composition of you and or your child

-how long after being on the diet did you start noticing any changes in body

composition, for example: when did you start losing more fat (not

necessarily weight), or noticed more muscle ( for the little ones could be

running better or developing better motor skills as an indirect marker of

gaining strenght or muscle_ do you remember which happened first?

for those adults with symptoms:

-when did you start feeling more energy?, sleeping better? getting up more

rested? any other improvement?

-any improvement in chronic illnesses, eg. arthritis.

is there any particular change in SCD that you can track as the most

important beneficial even for you or your child?

has anybody gotten NO improvement, adults and children, after a considerable

period on a conscientious 100% SCD?

I am trying to gather some information on some of the overall health effects

of SCD per diagnosis, if any. The purpose is to compile it and review in a

confidential medical meeting to bring awareness to other physicians about

the benefits of SCD. Even though my own story is pretty extensive, I could

surely use some anecdotal data. If anybody is wiling to tell me their

stories anonymously, It will greatly help me. you can email me privately.

something like that later.
