Guest guest
, I also have BCBS (of Minnesota), and I got something like that, also. Nothing about the 40 pound weight loss, but they did want the psych evaluation. I called a clinic with several psychiatrists and psychologists and was able to get an appointment the next day. I think it took the doctor there a day or two to fax his evaluation to BCBS, so it can be done. I think I got the letter requiring more info. on Monday, and it was back to them by Thursday. BUT... after they got that, I also had to see a dietician and get nutritional counseling, and they would not even consider me for approval until I had been seen by Dr. Rutledge. After I flew to Durham and went to clinic, they approved me right away. I sent them a very long letter with the letter from Dr. R., along with his physician profile, his credentials, and the MGB manual. I didn't want them to keep asking for more information, so I just gave them everything I thought they might want. Good luck!
