Guest guest
Hi Laurie, Ah,my lap scar, the source of my concerns since I began researching the mgb .Well,12 yrs ago I had a large ovarian cyst removed.(23 LBS)CLOSE YOUR MOUTH!It was probably about 12 lbs until the last week and it REALLY took off!The first time I went to a physician he said I might have an ovarian cyst, but highly doubtful, since I was taking birth control pills. So,he rechecked and said I was constipated and gave me some Dulcolax.About 10 mos later I saw another physician, who prescribed Xantac.About 2 mos later,I awakened and my stomach had actually distended overnight.I was in such pain,I could barely walk. When,I got to ER I must have looked brainless LOL because they kept telling me I was OBVIOUSLY pregnant.I kept telling them I was not!Of course they would not listen to me,so I had to request a pregnancy test. They believed the test.I had the staff call my MOM,in Wilmington, and she took me home.It was 7 more days before I was operated on and they were not sure what was in me,so they did a midline laparotomy incision(14 " )and removed it whole. You can imagine the ET jokes. My first trip to clinic was to ask DrR IF I was a contender,he said yes.I was at first happy, but then I began questioning what I had heard.Too good to believe.I went to the Sat group to ask again. He said, yes. Then last week at clinic I showed THE SCAR.The bottom line is I qualify,IF I am willing to take the increased risks, and if he approves my pkg etc,etc...So now I am searching for others with scars above the navel and their 'MGB STORY'.Now about the beach house, none of the descrition I sent is about the apt.The house is all of upstairs and 1 bedroom 1 bath down. The laundry is also down and not used by the apt.Stick to my description Sleeps 6 ,3 bdrm,3 full baths garage, laundry etc.One half of the downstairs is an apt and I rent it year round, great tenant, she is a pharmaceutical rep, very nice. loves Kindergarten but can't quite understand why she has to be there at a specific time.I gave up on their menu, she is bagging it.She is allergic to both wheat & dairy, too pervasive.I have no idea when I will have surgery, after my clinic visit w/ DrR I feel like I need a really good internist in place,so I am back to that step.I have an appt on 8/30 and one w/ another on 9/14.So I have NO idea when to hope for but I have hope.BTW it is 2 hrs away.I am sure there are people in Wilmington on the list, but ask, everyone knows where it is.Please let me know when you are scheduled,I might just try to get up to Durham and say Hi.
