Guest guest
Hi , > The cashew yogurt recipe calls for honey. I was wondering if that is a must, > or if it can be made without the honey. I am REALLY intolerant of honey. It will still make a yogurt without the honey but the number of bacteria will be substantially less. The honey is mainly what the good bacteria feed and multiply on since the nut yogurt is dairy free (lactose being their preferred food). > Also, I was wondering why cheese is legal. Doesn't it contain lactose?? All cheese is not created equal The cheeses listed as use freely in the appendix of BTVC are virtually lactose free. When the body has healed sufficiently you should be able to tolerate them. The cheeses in the Not permitted column still have large amounts of lactose and are not SCD legal.
