He's Good but not God. You can take the Viox he prescribed with your

Thank goodness, Thanks Trisha, good to know I'm not dreaming up these

things. So what do we take for minor aches and pains, like headache,

toothache, etc. Or does Dr. R take care of those while he's working

on us?

If bloodwork is good, supplements (vitamins) are taken, and weight is not

coming on, there isn't really a problem. You have to remember that much junk

food is categorized as such because the overload of fat calories in them make

the number of " nutritional " calories quite small in proportion to how many

calories are ingested. However, in our case, many of the fat calories don't

count. So for example, potato chips for us become similar to a baked potato

with a tiny bit of butter on it for a non dser. I know there are other

factor in play, such as chemicals that could be used or preservatives and

such in processed foods but this is an example that shows that the " junk "

food world has changed for us.

AJ,

she says she is eating good and all her protein and supplements etc and

eating junk comes after that......I was just wondering if it was harmful

over the long haul. Yeah, it does sound like she is mentally obsessed with

food! I thought I was but compared to her, Im normal!!!

Squeek,

When I went to the pulmonologist, that was the first test they did on me as

well. I fussed a lot and then they did a flow loop test with the nose clips

and all the other bells and whistles. The office test was normal for me as

well, but the flow loop showed moderate small airway obstruction. I am not

at all sure how these two tests relate, but I do know that the flow loop

test is able to distinguish where the trouble is, if there is any. I don't

have any idea why the one test was normal, and the second not. Maybe

someone more familiar with these test can enlighten us both! Also I have

not gotten an answer as to what the small airway obstruction means... At

least not to my satisfaction! I know that there isn't cartilage in the

small airways, but I have seen in some posts here that connective tissue

disease does cause problems in the small airways and nothing can be done

about it. I don't like that!!!!!!

Hi Sharon, this is is . That is the test box i remember using. From what i understand this test measures the flow of air coming in and out of your lungs. It can tell if you are having trouble doing both. In my case i could get the air in my lungs okay but it was releasing air is when i was having trouble. There is another test that i have taken, it's where you take in your deepest breath and then you blow as hard as you can into this tube and it registers that. I could only get mine to 150 and that was really bad. This was back in '98. I have a stent and a trach now as you know.

My breathing is fine now. I saw my Pulmy yesterday and he said i looked great. He also has 2 new RP patients he's treating, both in the Dallas area. All together he is treating 4 of us. He was saying that a lot of Pulmonary doctors has never seen this RP before and they don't know how to treat it.

Question

Hi,I have a question for everyone who has had pulmonaryfunction testing. What kind? What did they do? Iasked my PCP for a test yesterday and what I gotcertainly wasn't what I had read about, but maybe itwas adequate.....you tell me.There was no big machine, no nose clip, no variedbreathing exercises....all the stuff I had read aboutin an online pulmonary center. The technician held alittle box in her hand, about the size of a gameboy. She attached a wire from the box to a little breathingtube. I had to inhale, then blow as forcefully as Icould into the tube three times. That was it. I'mhappy to say this test was normal....but, was it thecorrect test? The doctor said it "showed norestrictions typical of connective tissue disease." So, I am just wondering, and hoping for the collectivewisdom and experience of the group. Thanks, squeek=====__________________________________________________

I dunno. I don't see the shame in any of this. I told everyone I

knew that I was having this done and I'd say 95% of the people I

told were like " wow you are doing a great thing for yourself " .

A few people were not negative exactly but had heard bad things and

had questions which I gladly answered for them.

I always figured if someone had a problem with what I did with MY

body and MY life well...they had a problem that didn't have to

become my problem.

Hi Patti

I'm so happy, because my son has 3 days making poop without diahrrea.

I have a question about the multivitaminic, enzymes, CoQ10, from Kirkman Labs.

My son consumes this products long time ago, but I dont know if some of them are

illegal.

Thanks so much.
