Guest guest
My son has been SCD since Feb., but 2 months into the diet his stools became undigested and he lost the great cognitive gains he had made. Since then, we have been on a search for an enzyme he can tolerate. His latest stool analysis shows that all inflammation and yeast are gone (yippeee!!!) So, we think it is safe to say the healing process has begun, and his gut is in good enough shape to hopefully handle an enzyme. He is allergic to most foods, and can't take any enzymes based on Aspergillus (all Houstons), fruits (papain and bromelain), or pork. In our case, being so limited by food allergies, a synthetic enzyme would be best. Does anyone know of a completely synthetic enzyme? His doctor has suggested Creon, a pork-based prescription enzyme. Although my son has a pork allergy, it is mild, and we are hoping that the ingredients used in this product are fairly free from pork proteins. Does anyone have experience with Creon? Or with any other synthetic or prescription enzymes? Thanks, Suzanne Tom ASD, SCD 6 mos.
