Guest guest
I keep reading here about yeast die off. As far as i know my son has no yeast problems. How do you KNOW if there is a yeast problem? Are there signs of it? What happens exactly with " die off " . How would you know if you were having " die off " . I want to be prepared incase there is a yeast issue i am not aware of. i know nothing about this! thanks. karen
Guest guest
Dear , Die off happens when any of the " bad guys " die in the gut. Not just the yeasty beasties cause this. Outward signs of yeast infection include but are not limited to, white coated tongue, white spots on the top of the mouth (this is thrush), vaginal yeast infections, and bright red diaper rashes. From our experience this is what die off feels like: dizzy nausea strange looking poops body aches irritability, mood swings, tantrums strange rashes and red bumps fatigue, tired CRAVINGS FOR SUGAR and SWEETS Solution, time, activated charcoal, Epson Salt soaks in warm tub, making sure that you are taking probiotics to take up the space that the " bad guys " create when they die....occupying it with " good guys " . This is easily done with yogurt and acidoolphilus. Lastly, Love, care and patience, for the one going through it. Some never have a die off reaction. From what I have been told, Elaine did not know why. When we started SCD, we chose to eat intro for 10 days thanks to celiac symptoms, diarrhea and die off. But we came pretty darn sick with active celiac disease. Hope this helps, Antoinette (2/06 celiac, entire family SCD thanks to ASD and more)
