Guest guest
Abby is 10 mos. and gets a sound thumping for 30 minutes whether she likes it or not. Since we've never compromised on it she is beginning to get used to it. We do 8 positions, 3 min. each. She watches the Wiggles and/or chews on the baby blanket that I lie across my legs during therapy. She fusses the most during the head- down positions. I believe CPT is very important and if you compromise now you'll have a " knock-down-drag-out " fight every time later on. Better to conquer it now. Abby is so strong that Kathy, my wife has a hard time doing it, although she gets it done. Sometimes Abby yells her head off nearly the whole time but I see that as dang good lung exercise. I love her up good between positions and talk calmly throughout but never let up on the popping with the percussor. She was getting junky 2 days ago and we went from 2 to 3x and literally " beat " it out of her. She cried a lot of it up and swallowed it. Now she's clear as a bell. If you're concerned about it hurting, don't be. I play around with my 2 non-cf girls with the percussor and even on myself. No way can you hurt anyone with it. Good Luck, Joe
