Guest guest
, This is an interesting question. When I had my upper endoscopy last February, they found that I had a small hiatal hernia at the base of my esophagas. Since that time, I've noticed that several people on this board have reported the same thing. So now I wonder if this is something that's brought about by our chronic pancreatitis? Now I'm curious to know how many of us have this, and what it's revelence is. Guess I'll have to do some research on this just to satisfy my curiousity. As you see, I've changed the title of the message and I hope now that anyone who does have a hiatal hernia will respond. I'd also like to hear if this causes problems for anyone. Mine is small and as far as I know, doesn't cause me any trouble. My GI asked me if I had any heartburn, and I don't really think I do. I do have occasional problems swallowing, but that's also a symptom of my hypothyroid condition, so the hernia probably just makes this a bit more noticeable. What did you doctor tell you about yours? With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl. I noticed that in Sandy's last post she mentioned having one.....Could this condition be related or caused by pancreatitis. I was just diagnosed last week with having one.
