Guest guest
Hi all: Question for anybody who might be able to help. Are any of you ladies on hormone replacement therapy and how does it affect your pancreas? When I was first diagnosed in 1997 HRT is the first thing that was discontinued. Eventually they started me on something else but I wound up discontinuing it myself simply because I was terrified it was going to make this pancreas worse. Well, now (and you may laugh) I WANT MY HRT BACK! But, I am terrified since my pancreatitis is most aggravated by drugs. The less I take the better. I have written to Dr. Cotton this evening and am waiting for his opinion before I go to the doctor. I just wanted to get an opinion/recommendation from anybody who has some experience positive or negative. I have checked out the " natural remedies " also and some of them scare me to with their ingredients. There is a place called College Pharmacy that is well-known for making natural hormones for individual persons. They formulate based on what you tell them. But, they also have the same warnings as the prescription ones.....heart attack, blood clots, etc. I figure if those warnings are there, then the pancreas still could be affected. Thanks all Kaye
