Oh yes - they definitely hit mid-year, ease off at around 8 months later,

and then kick in again 4 months after that with the next round....

Sian at 18 months - walked into the bathroom after her afternoon nap. I had

just finished painting it a lovely deep blue. Her reaction? " Oh S**T! "

Sian at 30 months - " We were playing vets and Catie was a snow leopard who

was sick and I had to stick the toothpick inside her ear to make her

better... "

Sian at 42 months - " they were annoying me, and I was very cross. I didn't

want to hit them, so I hit the window with the hammer instead... "

Those last two happened at her daycare mum's house. Needless to say I had

to pay for the doctor's visit and the window!

But this is also the child who at four told her pediatrician " No, I'm not

wonderful, I'm absolutely astounding! " , and at five told the pediatrician

" No, you're not sticking that tube up my nose. I will just drink the

medicine. " , and at six told the intern " No, Emla cream doesn't work. Just

stick the needle in my elbow and get it over with! "

We want this amazing energy and determination and ability to articulate

needs - really we do! It's just a little hard to deal with at times, that's

all. What joys and tribulations will a Sian aged 7 provide? I'll let you

know after Saturday. Yep, only two more sleeps till my baby hits the big 7!

Much love to all,

-
