Guest guest
YES< they are a VERY GOOD team. & a team they are. they all meet on each patient regularly so all are aware of what is & what could be. I personally feel that several great minds are better than one............. Also I know they train all their clinicians often are all the news. I have been there at least 2 times a year at SHANDS... & then the team all go to the NACFF . Plus to other seminars/conf in their specific fields. ANYWAY. Great news & I am very happy you feel that confidence ... Maybe next time I will meet you at the yearly family ED day . LOVE & HUGS< GrandmomBEV /Abby Bronchs Deb, Will do. We have Abby's regular CF clinic Friday the 11th then to Shands the 15th for the bronch. It seems as though this is becoming more commonplace and our team seems very enthusiastic about what we'll learn from it. Even 5 mos. ago they acted like the risk outweighed the benefit of doing them even much at all and held to the throat culture for an indicator. Even with my low level of understanding at the time right after Abby's diagnosis I wondered how well one swabbing in the throat every 3 mos. would tell the story. I've read some things since then that make it seem as though routine bronchs are gaining in frequency. I've heard about the risks but feel good about this. I'm glad the Shands team is being slightly aggressive as everything I've read point toward the importance of getting ahead of infection before damage occurs. We will remember y'all and will let you know how ours goes. Take care.
