Guest guest
THE FRESHMAN CLASS The aspiring, yet beginning freshman class all of whom were majoring in psychiatry, were attending their first class of the new school year at an eastern university on the topic of emotional extremes. The professor said to the class that just to break the ice, he was going to ask some questions to establish several parameters. He first nodded to a young student from Arkansas, asking, "Young man, what is the opposite of joy?" "Sadness," replied the student. To the freshman girl sitting near him he asked her, "And the opposite of depression, miss?" The young lady from Oklahoma replied, "Elation, sir." Sitting next to her was a young man from Texas. "And you son, what might be the opposite of woe?" The young Texan beamed brightly and replied, "Sir, I believe that would be giddy up."
