Guest guest
Oh, Sharyn, I do sympathise. I have arthritis in my knees, hands ankles and right hip, although it is not as severe as yours. I would not hold out for the hip replacement any longer than you have to. Although it is painful, and the rehab is difficult it is generally a very successful operation. A lady I knew years ago, who was wheel chair bound, and had both hips done then took up ballroom dancing as a hobby. Another dear friend of mine who had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and was also in a wheel chair had both hers done. She is only in her forties, but again can walk again. She doesn't do biking or walking, but she does do aquarobics as often as she can. Also when my shoulder was very painful I put off surgery for a year, when I finally had it done and finished the rehab I wished I had not waited, I was just a slave to pain in that year!! I later had the other one done, and now they are practically the only joints that don't hurt!!! If your doc says do it, get another opinion, and if it is the same my advice would be to go for it!! Love Liz __________________________________________________
