I take .06 mg of Colchicine twice a day at the first sign of a flare. It definitely shortens the duration and intensity of the flares. The only problem is that it can cause diarrhea and you must stop taking it when/if that happens.

Good luck with your meds and your doctors!

He did a good job of doing the assessment and has ordered an MRI for a tender spot at the top of my neck, to find out what's going on. We talked about some of the choices for "prevention" drugs and he suggested a low dose of Colchicine to start. I'm just curious if anyone else has been on this and found it to be helpful. I realize we are all different, but there's a lot of experience out there I'd like to hear about as I go through my journey, if people are willing to share.I'm scheduled to see Dr. Buckner in January and she will become my ongoing Rheumatologist, so I'm looking forward to that. Thanks!DISCLAIMER!!WE ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, THEREFORE ANY INFORMATION THAT IS RECEIVED HERE IS FROM EXPERIENCE ONLY.
