Our brightest kid was totally and utterly dyslexic--could draw, could

copy sentences, but as kid told me indignantly, " Maaaaahhhhhn, I

cannot copy those stupid little pictures WHILE recalling the answer

to the question, whereas if some one just ASKED me, I would know it. "

Kid went to school a year early, itching to learn, got help and remedia

tion for the dyslexia, which went away--almost entirely. Had straight A's

and aced the college exams here in the USA, even got a certificate

of grammar and language usage excellence. Kid is still madly, loudly

achieving at 38. Never underestimate a kid who has even ONE real

skill going! We never did understand quite how kid was ours--felt kind

of slow--like maybe the two of us would come close to the " Kid. " And

this was the one with cf! Kids are amazing; of course the next kid up

could draw like crazy--I mean each kid has something going--which is

why I myself favor, in the usa, public schools, where such remediation

is mandated by law.

Indignantly,

n
