Guest guest
Hi everyone, Haven't seen anyone else post on this topic, so, here goes. Seems I'm not getting enough fluids every day because my urine is very, very concentrated and I only " go " a little bit at most 3x day. It is caramel colored. My Dr. checked it out yesterday and it is fine. Thought I'd mention this so that all pre-ops are aware to drink, drink, drink. It's been hard drinking 3 TBS. of fluid every 20 minutes. I always forget and then an hour goes by. So, I've resorted to setting the microwave timer. Also, with the addition of the antibiotics to the pre-op meds, I also got a wonderful oral yeast and yeast in other places. So, my Dr. prescribed an oral Nystatin to " swish and swallow " 2 tsp 4x day. It is soooooo grosssss! I just can't bare to swallow it - not with the Carafate, Prevacid, Citrucel and Tums already in the belly! Other than these very minor things, I am doing GREAT! It is hard to believe I actually had the MGB. I've had no pain, no nausea, no vomiting. Get to eat soft foods on Sunday, can't wait! Guest guest
Help...... I am new to the site. I just learned about the MGB about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Its like an answer to a prayer. I would never consider the traditional surgery. In this short week, I have submitted info. to Dr. R. they have sent a letter for approval to my insurance co. I have seen my PCP who is in support, I have e-mailed over 40 people and only gotten 7 responses, I need 10. Whats the record for learning about the surgery to getting it done? Ha Ha Am I to bold to wnat to get it done this month? I need help with my biggest obstacle. PAIN. Typical Male big WIMP! Look forward to communicating via the site. Thansk for your info, help and support. Bob > Re: 11 Days post-op - weird things > happening! > > Bernie, > > Don't forget the yogurt........it's really good at combating yeast > infections. Guest guest
Rosemary, I can't believe you didn't get any yeast! You are brave to start crackers already! I'm going to start on baby foods, applesauce, oatmeal, mashed potatoes on Monday (14 days post-op). I'm following the discharge instructions to the " t " . Too chicken to be brave yet! I thought I'd be going back to work on Monday, but I don't have the energy yet, so I'm out another week. Once I get some food (even soft foods), I'm sure I'll feel like I can put in a hectic workday. The weather here in Texas is 105 degrees and that takes a lot out of 'ya. So, I prefer to stay in a nice air-conditioned house for another week adjusting to eating foods. Other than that, doing great! Glad to hear you are doing fantastic! When will you be able to get an accurate weigh-in? Guest guest
Hi Genz, Thanks for the tip! I'm so dry that I'm sticking with fluids every 20 minutes. My PCP said I don't have to swallow the nystatin, thank goodness. Can't wait to meet to go clothes shopping! I've dropped a size already! Hey, there's a new mall about to open in Frisco!!!
