Guest guest
Hi , From my experience with pancreas problems the pain management doctor is the most effective and useful physician that I have seen. I put going to a pain management clinic for over a year and when I finally got authorization to go, I still dallied for 4 months- which was a big mistake. Good pain managment doctors are very knowledgeable about the different treatment options available - different pills, TENS, nerve blocks, PT, etc and they will work with you long term. However, as with anything dealing with pancreatitis, you need to find clinic that has experience with this. Some pain clinics limit themselves to treating back pain and chronic headaches and chronic abdominal pain is out of their area. Guest guest
Heidi, thanks for your imput, I know about the celiac plexis blocks....I was more on to the implants which my orthropedic doc mentioned cause I have pain of the spine, neck, esophagus & the pancreas. Does anyone in this group have an implant for pain, as in something like the morphine pump? I don't believe I want to go that route just yet, but the Oxycodone 10mg. seems to be giving my heart palpitations & I wonder if the implants bypass that? I have trouble taking most drugs now. I guess I'll see what the anesthesiologist has to say. Thanks again, ......how about that sun???? at long last!!!
